• Is it worth buying menstrual underwear?

Among women who swapped pads, tampons or cups for menstrual underwear, opinions are very positive. Most admit that Silver Care underwear performs well even during the first days of heavy flow. Changing a pad or tampon should be done every 3-4 hours depending on the intensity of the period. Menstrual underwear only need to be changed twice a day. We recommend buying 2 pairs of underwear. One pair is worn, the other, clean, waits for a change. If you want to be sure that on these days there will always be a washed and clean pair waiting, you can get another pair. Optimal quantity is 3 pieces.

• With menstrual underwear, do you use a pad or tampon at the same time?

Menstrual underwear are designed to provide protection on their own during menstruation. There is no need to wear an additional pad, but if you feel more comfortable with a pad, you can use it identically to regular underwear. You can also wear the underwear for extra protection during menstruation when using a tampon or a menstrual cup.

• Are menstrual underwear expensive?

Menstrual underwear are very efficient and durable, so their purchase is definitely economical. One pair can serve us for 3–4 years without loss of absorbency. If you follow the manufacturer’s washing and drying instructions this period can extend to even 6 years (remember that the underwear can serve even longer, but their absorbency will gradually decrease – this change will not be noticeable). The cost of buying pads or tampons over a similar period is 3 to 6 times higher (depending on the brand of pads or tampons used) than buying 2-3 pairs of underwear. • Do menstrual underwear leak?

No, menstrual underwear do not leak, provided they are used and washed properly. However, you should monitor your body and adjust the wearing time of the underwear to your needs depending on the intensity of the period.

• Does menstrual underwear cause a bad smell?

A bad smell may occur when you have a vaginal infection.

• Do menstrual underwear feel damp?

If the menstrual underwear are washed correctly, they do not lose absorbency and should keep up with absorbing moisture inside the absorbing layer.

How to wash and care for the products?

1. Underwear should be washed before first use.
2. After use, we recommend rinsing and/or soaking before washing.
3. Can be washed by hand or in a washing machine with the rest of the laundry or in a separate wash bag (if you prefer).
4. If using a washing machine, wash at a temperature not higher than 40º.
5. For proper care, use neutral soaps. Do not use chlorine, bleaches, fabric softeners, natural oils or Marseille soap, as they may affect absorbency.
6. Do not tumble dry, as it may reduce absorbency.
