Organic feminine hygiene products — not a chemical pad

Organiczne artykuły higieniczne dla kobiet czyli nie chemiczna podpaska

Pads, tampons, toilet paper and tissues are chlorinated, and this process releases many dioxins into women’s bodies. Such toxic feminine hygiene products contribute to various conditions, including endometriosis.

MASMI is one of the companies producing organic hygiene products. Apart from a higher price compared to traditional products, pads look and perform the same from the outside. However, we have the guarantee that they are non-toxic — not chlorinated and made from 100% organic cotton.

Approximate prices for pads are: 10 pcs — 14–16 PLN; liners 30 pcs — 14–16 PLN; tampons 30 pcs — 18–20 PLN.

It may seem “so expensive,” but when it comes to protecting our health we should avoid chemicals as much as possible. Pay attention to possible health issues that are not often discussed because these are inconvenient topics for large corporations.

Remember that our health depends on the environment, what we put in our mouths and what we come into contact with through our skin, so whenever possible approach cleansing the body holistically — from every possible side. This is not an exaggeration, because every thing we ignore can negatively affect our body.

Traditional intimate hygiene products can cause serious health problems.

Research conducted by the American Endometriosis Association shows that using chlorinated pads or tampons with dioxins and other harmful substances can influence the development of endometriosis. Most women with endometriosis do not realise that their condition significantly worsens after using pads and tampons. These products contain a semi-synthetic substance — rayon instead of real cotton — to achieve maximum absorbency. Pads are bleached in the final stage of production. This bleaching process releases dioxins from the rayon as a by-product. Dioxins accumulate in the body’s fat over time and their concentration gradually increases.

Dioxins are known for their ability to cause cancer, damage the reproductive system, disrupt hormones, and even harm the central nervous system.

Endometriosis may be one of many ailments caused by dioxins. Therefore it is recommended that women use pads, tampons and other hygiene products free of polychlorinated biphenyls. These products can be purchased in health food stores or online shops.

The American Endometriosis Association has carried out extensive research on the link between endometriosis and dioxin exposure. Dioxins are a by-product of chlorination used to bleach pads and tampons. This exposure, especially with tampons, can cause endometriosis or worsen its symptoms. Because of the link between endometriosis and dioxins, it is best to consume chlorophyll. Chlorophyll can help remove dioxins from the body, for example via chlorella or spirulina.

Instead of disposable tampons, liners and pads, some women use reusable pads. Reusable silicone menstrual cups can also be used.
