An absorbent cotton core wrapped 360° in a special layer of organic cotton with patented Cottonlock™ technology, which prevents cotton fiber residues from remaining in the vagina during tampon removal and in the final days of a period, which can be one of the causes of TSS.

Did you know:Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is a rare but serious, life-threatening condition caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This bacterium can inhabit and multiply in the human body, especially in intimate areas. One of the factors that can trigger toxic shock is… a tampon. The UK National Health Service reports that using highly absorbent tampons can help bacteria enter the body where they may release toxins. Staphylococcus particularly thrives on plastic tampon casings that prevent the tampon from expanding in the vagina. TSS presents with general weakness and high fever. Due to toxins in the blood, septic shock can develop: heart rate increases dramatically, blood pressure drops, and loss of consciousness may occur.
